YES! to Sun Protection. No; to Pruney Skin.
Ana- Viejas, If you are like Corina and I who grew up close to the beach, you know that the sun leaves lasting impressions on your skin. Freckles, dark spots . If you are like me (I also suffer from rosacea and I think I am allergic to everything but my husband) it is even more
imperative that you cradle your skin. I cannot wear makeup anymore on my face (this includes foundation, blush, eye shadow, or mascara).
So what is this Vieja to do?... Well, I clean my face every morning with a mild cleanser and apply a blend of Eucerin Redness Relief and and Olay age defying classic on my face with upward and circular motion for hydration and SPF 15 protection. Then I go to town with my lip color.
Corina- Yes, we grew up in the tropics and spent half our lives at the beach, but long gone are the days of sun worshiping and frying under the sun. Remember those days? I used to lay out covered in baby oil or tanning oil with no SPF. Now, don't get me wrong, I still love the sun and as my children often point out "basking in the sun like a lizard" is one of my favorite pastimes. However, now I use moisturizer with SPF everyday and pack my favorite sunscreens for face and body when going to the pool or the beach. I bring a favorite hat and throw large sunglasses in my bag to wear when reading or people watching in the sun. I have embraced my dark spots, freckles and wrinkles but I am not actively trying to add more. I wear very little makeup, but I am with you Ana...What is a Viejawithstyle to do? Well; clean and exfoliate religiously, drink lots of water (it is important to hydrate from the inside out) and never leave the house without lipstick.
