White All Year Long!

Corina- No white after Labor Day is the “unwritten rule” of the past. Many fashion icons like French designer Coco Chanel never followed it. She wore white year-round as a permanent part of her wardrobe in the 1920s. We do not have to follow it either, especially today where everything goes when it comes to our own style. We can wear white 365 days a year if we choose to do so. Now, it is more about the fabric than it is about the color. Lighter fabrics in white such as linen for the hotter months, and heavier fabrics such as denim and knits as the weather gets cooler. I wear white all year, in different shades, layers and combined with different colors. I wear my white sneakers throughout all seasons. I also wear my white button-down shirts and white t-shirts in the fall and winter as layers. I combine my favorite white baggy skirt with t-shirts in the summer and sweaters as the weather gets colder.

Viejas, who can say no to trading our white pair of summer sandals for a bright pair of white winter boots?

Ana- There is very little white in my closet. Maybe a t-shirt. Oh; well... wait, there is that white pair of wrap around pants I bought on the internet during COVID. They came from China without a zipper so I have only used them once; in the summer, over a bathing suit .

I wear my off white garments exclusively after Labor Day; during the autumn and winter months. White is a high maintenance color. I can never be fully relaxed wearing white. I feel I have to babysit my outfit. Can I seat there? Would I end up with the color of what I am eating on my outfit? Thus, I am more confortable wearing off white.

Off whites in soft materials, make me feel sophisticated and relaxed. I know all white is a thing but I prefer to wear my off whites with a pop of a color.

Viejas, white makes other colors-in its proximity- stand out. There is nothing more beautiful than a white or off white outfit against bright autumn leaves.
