Unveiling the Art of Handkerchief Fashion

Corina – We have written about scarves before – one of our first posts was Don’t Forget the Scarf! Also, a few months ago, Ana and I featured a couple of different ways to wear a scarf in our “Viehacks”: Viejas Fashion Hacks post.  

Today’s post focuses on the celebrated, timeless and nostalgic "silk scarf" worn by Hollywood and society women icons through decades. This silk scarf style is back not only as a revival of the headscarf from the 50s and 60s but also as a trendy fashion accessory. It can be worn in a multitude of ways. Think infinite possibilities; necktie, wrist wrap, tied on a handbag, over a hat, as a top or belt. Wear this scarf for casual outings or formal occasions to add a tailored look, instant polish, pop of color to any outfit or just to express your individual style.

Ana- There was a time growing up when everyone wore bandanas; but not me. It can be a real mental exercise to figure out how many ways one can wear a handkerchief. Thank goodness for the internet. 

A couple of years ago, my neighbor gifted me a handkerchief that came with a wooden hoop. I have worn the hoop many times as an accessory but have never wore the hanky.
