Travel in STYLE
Updated: Jul 11, 2022
Corina- Viejas, it is possible to be stylish when traveling without having to pack everything you own. I do not travel much, but when I do I focus on comfort and quantity. It is important to me to be comfortable when on the plane, train or car and to carry with me as little as possible. Everything must fit in a small carry-on suitcase and tote. Therefore, the best way to achieve comfort, a minimum load without sacrificing style is to pack a capsule wardrobe or theme outfits. This photo shows a collection of clothes composed of interchangeable items. I go for neutral shades, light items I can layer, wrinkle free fabrics, walking shoes and a scarf that can be wrapped and worn in different ways.
Ana- I love to travel! For me traveling is all about learning, sharing experiences, and feelings I can relive through moments captured*. When I travel there are five accessories that are important for protection and style. Hats, scarfs, sunglasses, stud earnings, and walking shoes. I follow Corina's advice. When I am ready to pack; I make a capsule wardrobe and combine it with the five accessories, I just described. All five accessories allow me to create multiple looks extending the versatility of my capsule wardrobe. Viejas, a few words of advise: Never bring expensive jewelry when you travel. I buy a pack of stud earrings at Claires. Always bring worn shoes. If you are like me and walk a lot; new shoes are never a good idea.
*The picture on the left of the collage was taken by Erick (my husband) while on safari-with our two sons- in 2013. As he snapped the picture the jeep hit a bump and we bursted out laughing. This-out of focus-picture always takes me back to that moment and brings a smile to my face.
I prefer to travel lightly and stick with non-wrinkling stuff as a viejo with style :). My hubby however packs 3 suitcases and enough for three weeks when we go away for a weekend!
