The Sweater Vest

Corina – Yes, here we are yet again featuring the vest. A definite MUST HAVE for fall and winter is the sweater vest. Why do I love it so much? Because I am nostalgic when it comes to the 90’s but also because the sweater vest is a great layering piece. It is easy to incorporate into trans-seasonal outfits, and with so many choices of colors and patterns an extremely versatile piece of clothing. I mostly wear mine over a crisp, button-down shirt, paired with slacks, however they also look amazing on top of a long sleeve mock neck or under a blazer.

I have also worn one of mine “solo” in the summer. The sweater vest is a wardrobe stable that can be worn day or night, for work or for fun and rain or shine.

Ana- We have blogged about vests before but as it turns out, no all vests are created equal. When I think of a sweater vest, I think about preppy college students and tennis players. My nickname in college was “funky”*. I never fit the preppy mold or played tennis. Sweater vests just never been me. Do I even have one in my closet? Yep; one is all I have.

I managed to make my lonely sweater vest look both sophisticated and funky. The truth is, you can really throw a sweater vest on top of anything . Mine happens to be in a neutral color so it goes with everything.

I did not need a second sweater vest but I could not resist cutting the sleeves of an old sweater just to see; if with the passing of time, I might have changed my mind. Viejas, I have not. Now I have one too many!
