T-Shirts at Any Age
Corina- T-shirts are one of the most versatile pieces of clothing in my closet. They carry across all seasons and can be the core of my outfit. I will confess that when it comes to Tees, I have two categories: The fast fashion tees with graphics or a key message and the good quality minimalistic/neutral tone ones to wear with everything, anything, and anywhere. I like my tees to be loose, with different neck styles and sleeve lengths. I tend to favor cotton, linen or silk fabrics. I do have a few fitted T-shirts and ones in a smaller size for layering under a dress or jumpsuit. I mostly wear my tees under a blazer, denim jackets, or a button-down shirt. I also pair them with a dressy skirt or linen pants and sneakers for a casual summer look. Viejas, how do you wear yours?
Ana- When it comes to wearing T-shirts I love the classic shape. I used to wear them in different materials but as I get older I prefer cotton or a blend of cotton and spandex. I prefer a classical round collar to V- neck as I am rather flat chested. So how do I get creative with T-shirts? I play with prints, colors, and cut outs- in the right places- to insert a little drama. I also use the T-shit as a canvas to show off a unique accessory. Viejas, I know...it's tempting but please; no more crop tops (unless you are at the beach).
Like perhaps many of you, I do have a favorite T: It's gray, 100% cotton, its been with me for years, and has never lost its shape. It happens to be from The Gap. Unfortunately, a good quality T-shirt - for a reasonable price-is hard to find these days; even at the Gap.
I had never liked to advertise ideology or brands with T-shits; until ViejaswithStyle.
My favorite tee-shirts are all tied to memories of an event or trip where I bought it or people I was with when I got then. I have whole plastic tubs of favorite tee's (many of which no longer fit!) In the basement but I'm saving them cause they are sentimental. Some are very stylish too, but for me it's the memories and feelings they evoke.
