Slippers; Really?
Ana- Viejas, can slippers be both a symbol of discipline and a fashion statement?
When we were kids my mother used to threaten us with a red "cocuiza" (soft slipper made by guajiro indigenous people from Venezuela). I now know all she wanted was a few minutes of peace and quiet. She would say: "kids, I am going to take a 10 minutes nap. If you open my bedroom door I will throw this -cocuiza- at you"; and we always gave her a reason to.
No matter what they are called: shearling, snoozies, fuzzies; and how many celebrities are wearing them, I have had a hard time making slippers part of my wardrobe. Until... I found these sketcher slip-ons. They are called Gowalk Lounge-athletic Slipper House Shoe With Indoor Outdoor Air Cooled Foam.
Now that name itself is a statement! They are my favorite and only pair of slippers.
Corina- In recent years, the "everything goes"in fashion includes trends that once upon a time were never acceptable to wear outside the house. Listed on the Washington Post In and Out list for 2023 are shearling sandals; in other words, fuzzy slippers as one of the biggest trends for this year.
They are featured not only for lounging at home but as a slip-on-and-go for any season as an alternative to traditional shoes. It seems that it is also "equally cool" to wear your slippers with tube socks and/or plush socks when it is cold outside.
Well Viejas, this is a fashion statement I will not be making any time soon. My plush socks and fuzzy slippers will be staying at home!
I love Sketchers products! I love slippers of every kind and I think you have covered all the basics!
