One Last Time in 2022!
On December 30, 2022, something unique happened. The weather went up to 60 degrees and the sun made us think it was Spring. We needed more steps to burn off all those extra calories so Corina and I (Ana) went out for a walk… at the mall.
What jungle Viejas! and so worth it. An orgy of hands and clothes. We looked at each other in a fight or flight moment and decided to stay.
While standing in the long line to the dressing room we saw a lady in front of us who kept picking up garment-by-garment from a pile of twenty plus items she had created on the floor. She achieved a perfect balance using her forearms, wrists, and neck as hanging space; her hands busy clutching a container with a half eaten burger. We guess when fashion calls you need to answer no matter what you are doing.
There was a young women behind us who was trying a mini skirt over her exercise pants. She could not wait any longer and she confessed to us she had done it before.
When we finally reached the beginning of the line we could see mothers running back and forth bringing garments to their daughters so they did not have to leave the dressing rooms. Others; fed styles to friends in the dressing room from the racks of rejects left behind by hopeful shoppers who bravely decided that despite the psychological pressure of the new year they would not walk out of the store with something that did not match the 3 Fs (fit, flattering, fabulous).
After we survived our own dressing room experience it was time to stand in another line. While waiting to pay for our finds we saw boyfriends, husbands, and partners holding a space in line for our brave sisters who could not help but give the racks one last chance.
We paid and after wishing the staff behind the counter a happy new year, we sprinted out of the store and called it quits after 10,046 steps.
Here are last finds of 2022.. Welcome 2023!
