One Garment Five Ways
Corina- Now that I do not shop as much as I used to, I try to focus on buying pieces that are versatile and can be worn anywhere and combined in different ways to make multiple outfits. This is one of the reasons I tend to buy black pants, skirts or dresses since neutrals are one of the best ways to increase your wardrobe potential. I recently bought a black parachute cargo skirt, which I love. I can throw it in the washer, hang it to dry and not even have to worry about ironing. I can create so many outfits with the skirt that I have been wearing it a lot this spring and will continue to wear it all throughout the summer and into the fall.
Ana- How is this for an idea? I think all garments should come with a 5 in 1 tag. On the back of the tag should be the 5 ways you can wear the garment.
I recently discovered the five outfit rule which says that “If you're going to buy something, it has to go with five things you already own. If it doesn't, you need to leave it behind.”
This makes sense to me, If I pick out ;say a dress I like from a store, I would like to buy it because of its potential for amplifying my wardrobe.
I decided to take the challenge. I quickly learned that neutral colored pieces are easier to pair with other garments to create many outfits. These are my top fives outfits created with a maxi long sleeve black dress. Its like turning one piece into a runway mini collection.
