Noisy Trousers
Ana- When I was in College in the mid 1980's a dear friend gave me the nickname funky.
As I joined the workforce, I adopted the 90's working woman’s look. I wore a cross between the american stores: Ann Taylor and Jones of New York. This style was very streamlined and monochrome. Where did funky go?
After the pandemic the office dress code changed and we were invited to bring our authentic selves to work. Guess who came back?
I have so many noisy trousers in my closet that I had a hard time deciding which ones to choose for our post today.
So when the Sunday Times declared in March: “Forget quiet luxury, this season all roads lead to really rackety fashion trends - clothes so loud you'll need to wear ear defenders just to look at them”... Viejas, I knew 2024 was going to be my year!
Corina - I love psychedelic prints and wild patterns. However, as I have shared previously, I tend to avoid loud colors or patterns on my bottoms especially when it comes to pants. I always choose neutrals in hopes of looking slimmer. So, when it comes to making a statement with pants, I mostly focus on wearing fun and funky shapes such as barrel, ballon, wide-leg or harem style pants. I do own a pair of pants with vertical stripes, which are probably as loud and crazy as I will ever get with patterns.
On my list for spring 2024? A pair of culottes. Viejas, what is on your list?
