Make it Interesting; Add Texture
Ana- Viejas, texture is a delicious way to add dimension to your outfits.
Have you ever heard the phrase: “that person eats with their eyes”?
Texture in your clothes make others have a "taste" of your style. When you see texture you can almost feel the clothing.
Staring at a mix of denim and silk or lace and leather wakes up your senses and all of a sudden you are experiencing what other people are wearing.
Loopy, chunky, fuzzy, furry, soft, shiny, dull, bulky, rough, crisp, smooth and sheer. So many sensations.
Even the way you wear your hair can add texture to your style.
Viejas, be intentional about bringing texture into your outfit: Mix, match, and have fun with it!
Corina – mixing and matching fabrics make outfits visually interesting and can create unique looks as well as reflect our mood. I like to combine soft and rough materials such as a
smooth cotton shirt or silk skirt with a leather jacket or vest. I also like to layer a textured piece on top of a neutral, simple top and pants to make my outfit interesting or different. Sometimes, pairing a scarf or necklace of different textures (crochet, mixed fabrics, frill, textile beads, lace...) with a t-shirt or a simple dress is all I need to change my look. Last but not least I also add texture to my hair for a “messy”, fun and distinct style.
