High on Clothes

Ana- A few weeks ago, Corina sent me an article about dopamine dressing which is putting on clothes to impact your mood. Not long after that, I bumped into a post in LinkedIn and a picture of a lady.

The LinkedIn post read: “Someone told me I was intimidating. My response is come talk to me when you’re not intimidated. No more imposter syndrome for me. We were all created to be great.” The post had over 600 comments. Most were about the many ways in which the outfit conveyed her message and how the color made the readers feel.

Today I found an unexpected way to wear one of the blouses in my closet; and I felt unique in it. Cloths do make us feel all sort of things. I spent a few hours playing with the cloths in my closet and I had a blast!.

Corina – trending now is dressing for yourself, choosing items that make you feel amazing or in the words of fashion experts “Dopamine Dressing”. Remember our blog Wear What Makes You Feel Comfortable and Confident? It is different for everyone, but we all have our “thing” and that is all that matters. There are style elements that not only capture my personality, but also make me feel confident and happy. Always lifting and mood boosting for me are:

  • Having a great, stylish haircut that is easy to maintain.

  • Wearing sparkles whether it is a full garment or just a bold detail.

  • Wearing an item that effortlessly meets the three Fs (flattering, fabulous and fit) and

  • Bright, pretty lipstick

To be honest, I have a pair of faded blue jeans that a little big on me now and a blue polo shirt that is also a little big on me now. They are the most comfortable because of how flattering they are - they hide what I want to hide and accentuate what makes me look and feel good. I'm all about Dopamine Dressing!
