Headbands - Are Back!
Corina – I have never been a huge fan of hair accessories except for headbands. They have been fashionable since the 1930’s when Coco Chanel introduced the headband as a casual look. Then in the 1980’s headbands turned into a universal accessory when they also became part of men’s fashion. In recent years headbands have been seen all over the runways, retailers and of course Instagram. We can find them in many unique styles, sizes, fabrics and for all occasions. There are also endless ways to wear them regardless of hair length, style, and age. Yes, Viejas headbands are fine to wear at any age. Personally, I do not wear them often but if I do, I stay away from headbands with flowers, bows, designs, or any sparkle. I wear simple, stretchy, wraparound headbands in neutral colors. They are casual, good for thick hair and do not press behind my ears. When I wear headbands I keep other accessories to a minimum. Viejas, how do you wear yours?
Ana- Do I have a face for headbands? I thought not; but as the years pass and I have come into my own as a human, I find head accessories can turn on my style's creativity.
Thus, I became defiant and decided to give headbands a try. Even though I have short hair; or maybe because I do, I like thick headbands. They add a cool vibe to my outfits and I look grown up with my short hair. The last thing I want; is to look like a 57-year-old baby.
Headbands are also a very inexpensive way to spur up an outfit. Viejas, headbands are not only for little girls or just for exercising. I hope this post provides ideas on how to introduce them to your wardrobe. You too can make headbands part of your style; now that they are back!.
