Have an Organized Closet
Updated: May 1, 2022
Knowing what you have and where it is in your closet or drawers is essential for looking stylish every day. We have learned that there is not one single right way to organize a closet, armoire, or dresser | 1. Have an organized Closet 2. Know your body shape 3. Experiment with clothes and create new outfits 4. Shop anywhere and everywhere
Organization style is not important if getting dressed is easy and painless. Organizing by category or hanging similar item together, using baskets for folded clothes, bins for small items and over the door hooks are effective ways to quickly scan what you have and build an outfit. Using trays, boxes and glass containers for jewelry and accessories as well as shelves and racks for shoes and bags also makes belongings visible. | 5. Read fashion magazines, articles, blogs 6. Wear only what makes you feel comfortable and confident 7. Shop with your sister or best friend 8. Tailor clothes for a great fit
Once a system is in place to ensure your organizational efforts stick; return items to their groupings daily or toss in the laundry/dry cleaning bin. Take 15 to 20 minutes a week to return everything to its rightful place or to reorganize items if necessary. At least twice a year de-clutter by donating, consigning, selling, or trashing what you do not wear or want so there is room for added items and fresh pieces to create new outfits. |
