Espadrilles, Wedges and Flip, Flops
Corina – I am always excited about spring and summer shoes, especially because I get to trade warm socks and tights for pedicures. Growing up I was not a big fan of open toe shoes mainly because I do not like having straps or really anything between my toes. However, since slides became popular, they are my go-to when I think about open toe summer shoes particularly if I find them in bright colors. I also love wearing mules, which can elevate my outfit. Summer is also a great time to wear fun or classic sneakers as well as loafers and ballerina flats.
Viejas, if you are wondering about flip flops, this Vieja only wears them at the beach or when getting a pedicure.
Thank you to one of our readers who shared her first summer buy with us.
Ana- You know what they say about once upon a time dancers. I do not have pretty feet. Sandals and flip flops are out of the question.
They say when we grow older we become more accepting of our flaws.
Yesterday, I went to DSW determined to try a pair of sandals. I tried one sandal. I could not even put the pair on. I did find a hybrid between a wedge and an espadrille. I tried those on. I could do those. Maybe next year.
Viejas, after years of radical acceptance about my ugly feet, I have collected two pairs of peek A boo shoes.
I do admire other women's super cute-perfectly pedicured feet in any type of open shoe; starting with Corina's. I do get a little jealous.
When it comes to espadrilles, wedges, or flip flops; sorry viejas, thank you..next.
You are the best!! 😂
