Dare to Go Vegan!
Ana- I am guilty! I have own leather and worn leather. I am glad that today, I do not have to. The vegan alternatives to leather are really beautiful. I went out recently to buy a Jean maxi skirt and came back home with a vegan leather jacket! Failed mission? Wrong!
This jacket is versatile. I can wear it with a T-shirt and a pair of jeans, over skirts, dresses and tailored pants. I can give out a cool or a sophisticated vibe with this jacket.
I plan to bring it on the plane for my next trip abroad. It is the perfect transitional jacket for early fall.
Viejas, if you do not own a vegan leather jacket; consider it. They are stylish, affordable - I pay less than $40 for this one-and it is better for the environment than real leather.
A little vegan goes a long way!
Corina – Vegan or faux leather has become very popular in recent years. Just like real fur has been mostly replaced by fake choices; leather is currently undergoing the same transformation especially by those who want to see animal friendly materials in fashion. I will admit that there was a time when I probably would not have bought fake leather. I love jackets and accessories such as belts, bags and shoes made from natural hide. I like how soft leather becomes as it ages, how it changes color (patina) and the inconsistencies and imperfections of natural hide. However, I joined the vegan leather trend a few years ago when I found a motorcycle “leather” jacket online that I loved. I called the store and asked them to put one on hold so I could go and try it on. I was surprised to find out it was faux leather and that I could wash it at home. I bought it. Since then, I have added a few other vegan pieces to my wardrobe. They are high quality, fashionable and very affordable.
