Active wear that Fits our Body and Style
Corina- Active wear trends are not a fashion I have ever been into since I do not participate in sports or go to the gym. Viejas, call me old-fashioned, but I do not wear athletic clothes for social occasions and never for work. The only time I wear any resemblance of sportswear is when I go out for a walk or when at home. Therefore, I do not own fancy or trendy "athleisure" pieces. When walking or lounging at home in the winter you will find me in traditional sweats or jogging pants and hoodies. In the summer I wear loose-fitting shorts and T-shirts in quick-dry fabrics. My favorite walking shoes are Adidas sneakers or the Saucony Cohesion walking shoes for women. Although I did wear leggings and track suits in the 90s, which are now making a comeback; it is not a trend I will ever wear again.
Ana - Viejas, it seems like now a days we have to work three times harder to burn the tiniest of indulgences. Our crackling knees, aching lower backs, and stiff joints; all seem to conspire to keep us glued to our coaches. To top it all off; cute lounge ware invites us to forget about exercising. Yet, I wear my clothes best when I feel my best.
So…
In addition to dancing, I stay active by talking long walks. I do Pilates -at home-to target specific areas like stomach, gluteus, and obliques. When I get adventurous, I go on tandem bike rides, slow pace hikes, or zip lining.
According to Who, What, Wear; 2023 activate ware trends include flare pants, bold details, the return of the onesie, and the tennis skirt.
When I exercise I need to feel comfortable and stylish. I like wearing solid color flare yoga pants or leggings, graphic tops for a bold detail, and a solid pair of walking shoes. Layers are important. As you warm up you want to delayer to prevent your body from overheating.
Since my neighborhood viejas are always up for a walk; my sketchers are always close by.
